ID Number

An ID number is a unique identifier assigned to each project that is certified under the Global Carbon Standard (GCS). This ID number is used to track and identify the specific project within the GCS registry. Each project will have a unique ID number that is assigned at the time of registration and it cannot be used for any other project. This ID number is used to link all the other information about the project, such as its name, proponent, project type, country, and annual CO2 absorption, as well as the CO2 absorption calculations and the region where the project is located. This ID number also links to the registration date, the carbon debit starting date, and the carbon debit end date, which are also tracked in the GCS registry. This ID number is important as it is unique and serves as a reference point to track and verify the authenticity of the carbon debits and their origin.
